Title:
Dwight D. Eisenhower TLS – February 17, 1962 – PSA/DNA Certified MINT 9 | Signed Letter on Personalized “DDE” Stationery. "Nothing could be more rewarding, or important for our country, than working with the Young Republican group."

Description:
Offered here is an original Typed Letter Signed (TLS) by Dwight D. Eisenhower, dated February 17, 1962, written from Palm Desert, California, on his personalized “DDE” stationery, with “Gettysburg, Pennsylvania” also printed at the top right. Addressed to The Honorable John Phillips of Banning, California, this post-presidency letter reflects Eisenhower’s continued involvement in Republican Party activities:

"Dear Mr. Phillips:

Thank you for your letter; it was good to hear from you again.

Quite naturally, I am interested in your ‘avocation.’ Nothing could be more rewarding, or important for our country, than working with the Young Republican group.

My secretary has told me of the booth that the Young Republicans of Riverside, under the chairmanship of Dan Harris, have taken at the Indio Fair. (And I have a letter from Mr. Harris about it, too). If I do manage a visit to the Fair, which seems doubtful because of the crowd difficulties, I shall certainly stop by the booth.

With warm regard,

Sincerely,
Dwight D. Eisenhower"

Eisenhower’s full signature is signed in dark ink at the close of the letter. The document has been professionally authenticated, graded MINT 9, and encapsulated by PSA/DNA. The letter is in excellent condition with minimal age toning and is housed in a tamper-evident slab, with certification number 81616226 visible on the PSA label.

Historical Context:

In this 1962 letter, Eisenhower expresses support for Young Republican initiatives, reflecting his ongoing mentorship of rising conservative leaders during a transitional era in American politics. His residence in Palm Desert was often a base for rest and continued communication with party officials and supporters.

Written just over a year after leaving the White House, this letter showcases Eisenhower’s statesmanship and enduring dedication to public service.
