Title:
“The First Ladies” Book Signed by Jacqueline Kennedy, Nancy Reagan & Pat Nixon – PSA/DNA Certified, Triple Autograph - Incredibly Unique!
Description:
Offered here is a hardcover edition of The First Ladies, beautifully signed by three iconic First Ladies of the United States: Jacqueline Kennedy, Nancy Reagan, and Pat Nixon. The autographs appear on pages corresponding with each First Lady’s official White House portrait as painted by artist Aaron Shikler. Each signature has been authenticated and graded by PSA/DNA, with Jacqueline Kennedy and Pat Nixon each receiving a Gem Mint 10, and Nancy Reagan graded an 8. The inscriptions and placement are as follows:
-
Jacqueline Kennedy: Signed beneath her ethereal Shikler portrait in blue ink. Grade: 10
-
Nancy Reagan: Inscribed “To Joe Plunkett(?) / Best Wishes / Nancy Reagan” directly on the lower portion of her red dress. All additional writing is confirmed to be in her hand. Grade: 8
-
Pat Nixon: Signed an attached printed slip reading “With Best Wishes / Pat Nixon,” affixed below her portrait. Grade: 10
The book remains in excellent condition with a strong binding and clean pages. Minor shelf wear to the dust jacket is visible, consistent with gentle handling and preservation over time.
Historical Context:
The First Ladies is an official volume chronicling the history and influence of the spouses of U.S. presidents. This edition stands out due to the presence of three original autographs from First Ladies who defined the role across three pivotal decades of American history:
-
Jacqueline Kennedy (First Lady, 1961–1963) revolutionized the White House’s aesthetic, oversaw its restoration, and elevated the role to one of cultural leadership. Her signature is especially prized due to her reclusive post-White House years.
-
Pat Nixon (First Lady, 1969–1974) was noted for her extensive international travel and promotion of volunteerism. Her poised and gracious public persona was widely admired during an era of great national challenge.
-
Nancy Reagan (First Lady, 1981–1989) brought a blend of Hollywood glamour and conservative advocacy to the White House, becoming a major figure in the Reagan Revolution and spearheading the "Just Say No" campaign against drug use.
Having all three women’s authentic signatures in a single volume presents a rare trifecta of 20th-century First Lady influence.
