Offered here is an original, fully completed personal bank check signed by Jacob Beser, the only man to serve as a crew member on both atomic bomb missions over Hiroshima and Nagasaki. The check is dated September 12, 1969, drawn on the Maryland National Bank of Baltimore, Maryland, and made payable to the United Welfare Fund in the amount of $10.00. It is filled out in blue ink and prominently signed “Jacob Beser” on the signature line. A bold red “PAID” cancellation stamp dated October 8, 1969 appears across the face.
