Title:
1969 NASA Apollo 11 Mission Pass – Kennedy Space Center Launch Credential – PSA 7

Description:
Offered here is a rare and historic official NASA Apollo 11 launch pass from the John F. Kennedy Space Center, dated July 1969. This numbered credential, No. 50, granted exclusive access to view the launch of the mission that would achieve mankind’s first landing on the Moon.

The front of the pass features the iconic Apollo 11 mission insignia—a bald eagle descending onto the lunar surface, Earth rising in the background—an emblem chosen by astronauts Neil Armstrong, Buzz Aldrin, and Michael Collins to symbolize the peaceful nature of the mission. The reverse side carries printed text from NASA, welcoming the bearer to the launch of Apollo 11, described as “the first mission planned to land Man on the Moon and return him safely to Earth.” It bears the printed signature of Dr. Kurt H. Debus, Director of the Kennedy Space Center at the time.

The pass, measuring approximately the size of a postcard, is printed on card stock with bold graphics, strong color, and minimal toning consistent with its age. It is encapsulated by PSA with a grade of NM (Near Mint), ensuring both authenticity and preservation.

Historical Context:
On July 16, 1969, Apollo 11 lifted off from Kennedy Space Center, beginning the most celebrated spaceflight in history. Four days later, on July 20, Neil Armstrong and Buzz Aldrin became the first humans to set foot on the lunar surface, while Michael Collins orbited above in the Command Module. The event fulfilled President John F. Kennedy’s bold 1961 promise to land a man on the Moon and return him safely before the decade’s end.

Launch passes like this were issued only to select guests, dignitaries, and officials—making them highly sought-after relics of the space age. Their survival more than five decades later, especially in this well-preserved condition, is rare.

Authentication & Encapsulation:
This Apollo 11 launch pass has been authenticated, graded, and encapsulated by PSA, the leader in third-party certification. The PSA label reads:

  • "1969 NASA – Apollo 11 Mission to the Moon – PASS – NM"

  • Certification Number: 110772150

Closing Appeal:
This Apollo 11 Kennedy Space Center launch pass is a tangible memento of humanity’s greatest leap forward—the moment when man first set foot on the Moon. With its iconic insignia, numbered issue, and PSA certification, this piece is both an exceptional collectible and a powerful reminder of the triumph of the Apollo program. It stands as an essential artifact for collectors of space memorabilia, Cold War history, and NASA’s golden era.
